It’s a pool party over at ModCloth, and you’re invited! With so many bikinis and one pieces to pick from, you’re bound to find a standout look that suits your style. And while you’re at it, check out ModCloth’s exploration of so-called “ideal” beach bodies in their new Swim-fographic! It’s an intriguing look at how arbitrarily beauty standards have changed over time. Of course, ModCloth knows that every body is a beach body — the only requirements are a beach, your bod, and a swimsuit you can’t wait to flaunt!

‘Tis the season to shop (and save!) and ModCloth has you covered with extensive Gift Guides for everyone in the fam. Which one appeals to my bargain-hunting, penny-pinching self the most? That would be their Gifts Under $20 Guide, and here are a couple of my favorite picks therein:
6. My Pet Octopus Hairclip, $9.99. You caught me: I have a secret thing for octopuses. (Of any genus, hence octopuses.) This hairclip would be perfect for my weird penchant, but not quite as high-maintenance as owning an actual octopus as a pet. Which some might consider cruel due to how shy and intelligent the octopus is.
7. Why You’re So Awesome Book, $11.99. Why you totally are! LOVE this fill-in-the-blank book to give to your favorite someone. Heartfelt – but not in an icky way.
8. No Conquest Ring in Silver, $12.99. I have this ring. I adore it – I get compliments every time I wear it! Very Game of Thrones meets Robert Lee Morris.
The coming Winter chills mean layering is a must in colder climbs – and Modcloth has you covered when it comes to cute (and sophisticated!) layers. Inspired by the unrelenting recent Portland rains, I put together a Polyvore board featuring items from Modcloth that you can layer together to bundle up against the weather and still look fantastic.
Pairing mustard and burgundy looks high-end and polished for work, and pops of navy and blue make it fun. Add a bit of pattern for interest (polka dots) – pair with a lightweight Summer lace dress (for versatility and texture), and pop on a pair of mustard tights to tie the whole look together. Burgundy accessories complete the look – and, if it’s extremely frigid, you can add a soft cardigan underneath, and a jaunty beret and short wool gloves to keep even warmer.
This look works on a variety of body types and ages – just add an umbrella if you live in the Pacific Northwest. 😉
See Modcloth’s other great cardigan selections and outerwear to complete your Fall layering looks!

It has been 1 year since ModCloth officially launched plus-sized clothing on their site! They’ve proved themselves once again to be at the forefront of fashion, expanding their catalog with a more items in a full range of sizes to fit all body types.
Check out the full-range fashion page in their Style Gallery, which showcases community-uploaded photos featuring ModCloth items that are available in a full size range.
Why? Because fashion should be for all!
Here are a couple items I’ve added to my wishlist (in a full range of sizes, yay!)
Have you always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer? Well now that dream can come true! The ModCloth Make The Cut program is a recurring design contest that invites the ModCloth Community to design garments, graphics, or fabric prints. Its main purpose is to further their mission of democratizing fashion by producing clothing designed by community members. YOU can become a designer at ModCloth!
How does the contest work?
Entrants will design a new print for a private label dress silhouette that is already being produced!
After the submission period, the ModCloth Creative Team will narrow down the submissions to 20, which will be sent to the guest judge, Amanda Needham, Costume Designer for Portlandia. After Amanda has chosen the 10 finalists, they will be posted on the Be The Buyer page for voting. There will be a week for the Community to vote, then ModCloth will contact the winner and update the contest announcement with the big news!
• Contest is Live Now!
• End of Submission Period: Friday 02/14/14
• Launch voting on Be The Buyer: Monday 03/03/14
• End voting on Be The Buyer: Monday 03/10/14
