How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus Giveaway

How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus GiveawayI’m always on the hunt for a bargain, and savings on top of that bargain is just icing on the cake! My local Target is one of my favorite places to score fabulous, fashionable items for a steal – and now with the Cartwheel App, there are even further discounts available! It’s super-easy to use (and fun to be able to use it in the store and see what you can save on the fly!) Cartwheel can be used on desktop, tablet, mobile web, iPhone, and Android (though first you have to download and install the app on your device.) You can use it before going to Target, to see what has Cartwheel discounts before going. How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus GiveawayWhen checking on items at Target.com on your mobile device, you may see a notation next to the item that says “Cartwheel Offer” – for these items, you just click through to the item and hit the “See Target Cartwheel Offer” button. How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus GiveawayThe Cartwheel app will open and tell you what discounts are available. If you find a Cartwheel offer that you like, you simply hit the “Add” button to add it to “My Cartwheel” – which will then be scanned at the register at Target. The barcode that is generated by Cartwheel is unique to you. How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus GiveawayCartwheel offers can only be used on in-store purchases, but once you’re at the store you can also scan the barcodes of items to see if there is an applicable Cartwheel discount. This scarf caught my eye, so I scanned the barcode to see if it was discounted on Cartwheel. By tapping on the barcode icon in the top Search Bar of the Cartwheel app, the app opens your phone’s camera with a rectangular area to scan the barcode. Hold the phone with the item’s barcode in the rectangular area, the app will scan it, and then it will redirect to a page that tells you if there are any Cartwheel offers on that particular item. How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus Giveaway And there was: 15% off Women’s Fashion Scarves! Score! When I browsed through the lamps aisle, thinking to pick up something for my bedroom table, I saw a gorgeous clear bubble-stemmed lamp base, and decided to see if Cartwheel was offering a discount on it. How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus Giveaway I was in luck and Cartwheel was also offering 15% off Lamps, expiring that very day! So I tapped the “Add” button, and it was added to my other saved Cartwheel discounts. How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus Giveaway The neat thing is that even if items are on Clearance or marked down, the Cartwheel discount is on top of any other Target discounts or coupons, manufacturers’ coupons, and your REDcard discount. So it’s like double, triple, quadruple savings! How to Use the Cartwheel App to Get Bonus Savings on Everything You Love at Target! Plus Bonus GiveawayAt checkout, after ringing everything in my cart up, the cashier scanned the barcode Cartwheel was displaying. This barcode activated my saved discounts: 15% off Lamps, 15% off Mirrors, and 15% off Women’s Scarves. I had 2 mirrors and so the discount was applicable to both of them – woohoo! One of the mirrors was even a clearance item and marked down already – so I got 15% off that final price. (For each Cartwheel discount, you can have up to 4 items.) I ended up saving a grand total of $30.68! This was on one lamp base, 2 mirrors, and 1 scarf – and though some items were already on sale, just by using the Cartwheel app I saved an additional $17.18 off my purchases. Cartwheel offers change often (there is a countdown in the app to when each offer expires), and there are more than 700 discounts available! Each person starts with 10 spots on their list to “clip” their virtual coupons to. You can earn badges for saving and interacting with the app, which earn you more spots on your Cartwheel list to fill up with extra discount offers.

My biggest bargains simply come from searching items online during the off-season. For example, buying snowshoes in July online.

Oh, and there was the time I found a cashmere sweater on a clearance rack at Kohl’s for $1.74…that was amazing!

I have hit some good clearance sales by chance, but I got Gerber junior baby food with a in store ad coupon that didn’t have a limit so I checked the expiration dates and filled up my cart (literally) The store wasn’t really happy about it and rang every single jar up individually and applied the discount. They even called the manager over to the register but I stood my ground because the coupon did not have any limit of how many I could buy so the manager honored my purchase. It took along time to ring out but it was worth every penny I saved ( it was a lot!) I checked back a couple days later and they never restocked the shelves until after the coupon expired. Love a good bargain. Pat S

Lately I’ve been timing my purchases based on in store offers and whatever coupon I’m able to find. I manage to get $5 off a $15 purchase coupon plus one of my items was already 40% off, so it was like I bought a new concealer and got an essie nail polish free. :)

With a $100 gift certificate, I stocked up on some clothes (mostly from the clearance rack). I got a $70+ Jennifer Lopez dress for $5, $70+ black Jennifer Lopez jumpsuit for $3, and a blue vintage-esque dress for $5. To top it off, I was able to stretch my gift card further since I had a 20% off coupon, and then received $25 back (gotta love Kohl’s). I’m always finding major deals at Target, too. A few months ago, I found a pretty $30 handbag for just $5. :)

I haven’t gotten that amazing deal just yet. I do use coupons when shopping online or I know I’m going out shopping and have time to print some coupons. I’ve gotten shirts for my youngest daughter a couple of time for $2 for TCP, that’s probably my best deal so far. Thank you!

During the Iraq war, when gas prices were going up and automobile prices were going down I convinced my husband to buy a truck. Knowing we would not be using it as our primary vehicle, the cost of gas to drive it was not an issue for me. We saved over $12,000 purchasing a new Dodge Ram truck. That was one of our best financial decisions ever!

I used to save big time on groceries when Kroger tripled coupons here, but now they cut that out. I just got a new phone and I’m excited about downloading this app. I love Target shopping and this will just be icing on the cake. I am also expecting a new grand baby in October, so I will be taking advantage of the baby related deals.

The biggest discount I’ve ever gotten for myself was when I found a pack of coupons for a certain dish detergent for $2 off and they were $1.99. I bought twelve of them. But my mom taught me young, when I was little we would go out monthly at midnight to the local grocery that was both 24 hour and doubled coupons and we would always leave with cartloads of stuff for pennies. Since she had a family of four to feed with one not too large salary, she had to do it in order to keep us fed and she learned as she went.
